2010-03-24 - «It cannot be worse» – Moldova, the first to perform at Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo
«Sun Stroke» and Olia Tira with the song «Run away», to represent R. Moldova at this year edition of Eurovision contest, will be the first to perform in the first semifinal of May 25, DECA-press informs.
Asked to comment on the situation, Serghei Orlov, Olei Tira’s impresario, said «it cannot be worse». «It is very hard for any artist to be the first to perform. This has even a great impact than the political aspect of the contest», Orlov said.
On the other hand, Orlov stated the only thing Moldova should be happy of is the fact the public will have more time for voting. «Now, the only thing we should is to work hard, so that Republic of Moldova’s performance is successful», the impresario added.
On Mach 23, the draw of the number of order of each country was held in Oslo (Norway). Moldova will be followed by Russia’s representatives. The first semifinal will bring together the artists from Serbia, Finland, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia and Estonia.
The first semifinal of the contest will be held on May 25, followed by the second one on May 27. The great final of the 55th edition of Eurovision Song Contest will be held on May 29.
Republic of Moldova participates in this contest for the sixth time. The most successful performance of Moldova at «Eurovision», Moldova was recorded in 2005, when «Zdob si Zdub» band was on the sixth place. Another successful performance was recorded by Natalia Barbu in 2007, being the tenth.
